Mrydette (Mary Bernadette Lee)
"Mine is a phenomenological approach to understanding the relationship between exterior topography of body, architecture and place, and the interior tapestry of psychological states. This relational dialectics between the physiological and the psychological is expressed through paintings that foreground the architecture of my identity as a person and an artist. "

Mrydette is a painter and illustrator who favours the medium of graphite, acrylic and ink. Her artistic practice celebrates the intuitive and lyrical, imbued with a beguiling naiveté in her love of decorative rhythms and joyful colours the artist brings to confessional representations of her interior landscape.
